Asus Releases 12-Hour Laptop Battery Life

12 Hour Laptop Battery Life from Asus

Usually, when you acquire a laptop you have a tradeoff between power and battery life for mobility. Asus managed to put power and a 12-hour battery life together in their new “green” Asus UL80JT laptop. This new generation laptop has two GPUs, a high-end NVIDIA GeForce 310 and a modest Intel GMA together with an Intel Core i7 CPU.

The Asus UL80JT continually monitors the needs of the user, re-clocking the processor and switches between graphic cards to conserve power every second that depends on the processes being carried out.

Some other laptops have used a similar energy saver but the Asus UL80JT is different where nothing needs to be adjusted. Its user-transparent switching happens straight out of the box whenever the user requires the power.

No to Mobile Core i7 and i5 CPUs with Integrated Graphics – Apple Says

Apple says no to mobile Core i7 and i5 CPUs with integrated graphics

Apple machines are admired despite the fact that they tend to cost much more than comparably equipped Windows-based PCs.

The line of Apple MacBook notebooks is popular with consumers and professional users alike and the machines gain performance with each of the following generation.

Some of the more recent Apple notebooks have had serious graphics issues that cause poor performance and other problems for many users. Some earlier Apple machines that endured from graphics despairs had flawed NVIDIA 9400 series GPUs to blame. You may think that discrete graphics cards causing issues in Apple products that the firm might be eyeing on integrated graphics with more performance.

As rumor has it, Apple has passed on the coming Intel mobile Core i5 and i7 CPUs with integrated graphics. A custom version of the processors that have no integrated graphics was requested to Intel by Apple. These chips would be friendlier to the discrete graphics cards that provide more performance than integrated GPUs are competent of. At the moment, there has been no official response from Intel or Apple regarding this issue.

In the past, Intel has created custom CPUs for Apple in the past; the MacBook Air used a custom Core 2 Duo CPU.

Update: Intel Email Leaks MacBook Pro Core i5

Intel email leaks MacBook Pro Core i5 update

Are you an Apple fanatic? You must be excited when the new and updated hardware is added to their beloved MacBooks. The last time, it was talked that a new MAcBook feature was the cool new matte screen option making its way back to the line. Reports are coming in now that the MacBook Pro line might be set to get a new processor update.

AppleInsider reports that an email has been sent around to members of the Intel Retail Edge program. The program is something that Intel does for retail workers that allows them to learn about Intel tech and earn coins that can be collected and traded in for Intel gear.

The latest email sent to the members was an invitation for the members to register for a contest that is giving away a pair of new Apple MacBook Pro notebooks boasting Intel Core i5 processors. That particular processor line went official at CES, but has not been confirmed for use in the MacBook Pro line. The update makes sense and suggests that even if the new Tablet doesn’t break cover at the Apple event later this month, we will probably be hearing about the updated MacBook hardware at least.

Apple Unveiled a New Mac Developer Program
..

Apple Launches Mac Developer Program

Apple has unveiled a new developer program meant as software developers for their Mac computers. This new platform is based on the similar system as the iPhone Developer Program and it will eventually replace the current developer scheme.

The new Apple Mac Developer Program will cost just $99 a year and it will give developers an access to early builds of OS X, developer boards and technical support, plus a range of tools to program software for the new platform.

The main disparity between to the Mac Developer Program and the old scheme is that Apple has removed the hardware purchase program that gave developers a discount on Mac computers.

Apple have seen huge success with their iPhone Developer program, with hundreds of thousands of application being developed for the platform by independent developers, and they obviously see this new Mac Developer Program as a way to increase the amount of software developed for Macs.
